MINUTES
October 14, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 7:28 PM by Mrs. McKenna.
Mrs. McKenna welcomed everyone to the meeting.
The Council was encouraged to communicate to their fellow classmates the information that is discussed at ASB meetings.
The minutes of the May 7, 2014, Evening Council meeting were approved as written.
Program Update
- Fall Term Ends: November 21, 201
- Winter Term Begins: December 1, 2014
- Admission’s Day: November 10, 2014
- Veteran’s Day: November 11, 2014
- Thanksgiving Break: November 24-28, 2014
- Christmas Break: December 22, 2014-January 4, 2015
Financial Report
The balance as of October 14, 2014, was $2,688.39.
Report from Evening ASB Council
The minutes from the May 6, 2014, Daytime ASB Council were distributed. Mrs. McKenna explained that the minutes from each council meeting are given to the other council, so that they each know what is being discussed at each other’s meetings.
New Business
Mrs. McKenna explained to the new 2014/2015 ASB Council the purpose of the Council, which is to discuss matters concerning the school at large. Mrs. McKenna also explained that the Council has been involved with community activities, such as the Thanksgiving food drive, Christmas toy drive, and the Red Cross blood drive. She also explained that the most costly and time consuming event the Council has put on in the past is the “Day of The Teacher” event. She also recommended that the members start think of a gift for the teachers early on, so that there is plenty of time to purchase a gift if that is what the Council chooses to do for the teachers on this special day of celebration.
