Adult School Launches 2019 Spring Term

The Whittier Adult School is launching its spring term on March 4, offering a variety of courses, including accounting, citizenship, English as a Second Language, high school diploma and its newest programs, School Bus Training and Introduction to Construction Fundamentals.
 
The School Bus Training program is designed to prepare students to meet all requirements to obtain work as a school bus driver. The course includes orientation and classroom instruction to prepare for commercial driver testing, learn laws and regulations regarding and prepare to earn a CHP Bus Driver Certificate.
 
Superior students will be offered paid internships to complete behind-the-wheel training with the WUHSD transportation department, leading to employment upon full licensure.
 
Classes begin March 5 and take place 9 a.m. to noon or 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
 
Introduction to Construction Fundamentals trains students to begin work in construction or manufacturing. Topics include safety, construction math, hand and power tools, and construction drawings.
 
Classes take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Santa Fe High School, 10400 Orr and Day Road.
